The mission of ADAC is the prevention of alcohol and drug abuse and dependence.

What do we do?

  • Intervention to help families with addiction-related problems

  • Programs for children, adolescents and their families

  • Lecture series on alcohol / drug-abuse prevention topics

  • Free lending library and Resource Center of books, articles, brochures, audio and video
    tapes

  • School presentations on prevention topics

  • Adolescent and adult assessments

  • Provide Alcohol and Drug Free Zone for Mardi Gras Parades

 

The Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council is a non-profit community based health agency.  ADAC
consists of prevention programs for alcohol, drug abuse, and tobacco use.  The programs
address issues concerning parenting, the community and education.

Some of the Programs ADAC offers are:

  • Strengthening Families

  • Conflict Resolution

  • Substance Use Prevention and Education Resource (S.U.P.E.R.)

  • Substance Abuse Evaluations and

  • Substance Abuse Education Classes

The Services provided include:

  • Adolescent and Adult assessments

  • Employee assistance programs

  • A Free lending library

  • Intervention to help families with addiction related problems

  • Lectures on alcohol / drug abuse

  • Referrals to appropriate treatment resources

  • School presentations on prevention topics which are available upon request
